And Yet Parents Continue to Push Their Child(ren) as ‘Gifted’

Truly, stop living vicariously through your children. They are born with their native intellect and ability. Push them too hard and you will reap what you sow. You had your chance in life. If you neglected to take advantage, push on and accept the fact.

William James Sidis was the product of his father’s egotism. From ‘sidis.net’: ‘William James Sidis was a genius. He was by far the most precocious intellectual child of his generation. His death in 1944 as an undistinguished figure was made the occasion for reawakening the old wives tales about nervous breakdowns, burned out prodigies and insanity among geniuses.’

Did poor William give much to the world? Yes, he did. Marvelous things. Please present your respective clicks onto one of his pictures to see what he contributed. Was it worth it? That’s for you to decide.
